Child Service Professional
Overview
A Child Service Professional supports the safety, well‑being, and healthy development of children and families. This role works directly with children in need of guidance, protection, and support, while collaborating with caregivers, schools, and community agencies to ensure each child receives appropriate services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct support to children: Offer emotional guidance, behavioral support, and skill‑building activities tailored to each child’s needs.
Conduct assessments: Evaluate the child’s physical, emotional, educational, and social needs to inform service planning.
Develop individualized service plans: Create and implement plans that promote safety, stability, and long‑term well‑being.
Collaborate with families and caregivers: Strengthen family relationships and provide coaching to improve home environments.
Coordinate with community partners: Work with schools, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
Document case notes and reports: Maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with agency and state requirements.
Monitor progress: Track outcomes, adjust service plans, and advocate for additional resources when needed.
Respond to crises: Provide calm, trauma‑informed support during emergencies or high‑stress situations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (psychology, child development, counseling, etc.).
Experience working with children or families in educational, clinical, or community settings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Knowledge of child development and trauma‑informed care.
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for home visits (if required).

Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred in psychology, social work, human services, education, or related field.
Experience working with children/adolescents with challenging behaviors in home, school or community settings.
Ability to engage in face-to-face behavioral intervention in naturalistic settings.
Strong documentation, data-collection, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with families, caregivers, service teams, and school personnel.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if role involves travel to client settings).
Ability to pass background checks and comply with agency and Medicaid provider requirements.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, behavior analysis, or related field.
Certification or coursework in behavior intervention or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Experience in Medicaid-funded behavioral health services or knowledge of Medicaid policy for behavior modification (for example, familiarity with SC’s BMP requirements in the RBHS manual).
Familiarity with the SCDHHS Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBHS) manual and Behavior Modification guidelines for Medicaid in South Carolina.
Ability to provide crisis prevention/intervention.
Duties
Work collaboratively with the client, family/caregiver, treatment team (including the Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts [LPHA]), and other stakeholders to implement the Behavior Modification Plan (BMP) that aligns with the client’s Individual Plan of Care (IPOC) and Medicaid service definition.
Engage clients in face-to-face, direct behavioral interventions in the natural environment (home, school, community) as required by state policy (shadowing/observation alone does not satisfy the requirement under SC Medicaid for B-MOD).
Identify and operationally define targeted (problem) behaviors and replacement (desired) behaviors, set measurable objectives, design intervention strategies, environmental modifications, monitoring and data collection methods per the BMP requirements.
Model positive behaviors, shape and reinforce desired skills, and support the client’s generalization of skills across settings.
Monitor progress toward behavioral goals, collect and analyze data, document outcomes and adjustments, report barriers to achievement of goals, and collaborate in plan updates. (Per SCDHHS policy, progress summaries must include barriers and reasons for service/frequency failures.)
Participate in team meetings (including the LPHA, family/caregiver, other service providers) to review progress, revise BMPs as needed, and support transitions/discharge planning when appropriate.
Ensure all activities and documentation comply with applicable Medicaid policy standards, confidentiality rules (HIPAA, state laws), and internal quality assurance protocols.
Provide training/support to caregivers/families on implementing behavior strategies, tracking progress, and sustaining positive behavioral change.
Maintain professional development and stay current on evidence-based behavioral interventions, state policy changes, and clinical best practices.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW/LMSW/MHP
We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team! You will provide emotional and administrative support to clients in either individual or group settings.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with Jasper County and Hardeeville school systems
Assess nature of students’ situations by interviewing and reviewing the personal history
Develop and execute individual treatment plans
Determine appropriate milestones to gauge client progress
Communicate client updates to all relevant parties
Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and programs
Maintain accurate client documentation
Qualifications:
Previous experience in social work, counseling, or other related fields
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Ability to build rapport with clients
Strong leadership qualities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
LPC/MHP
Summary:
Provide clinical and consultation work as part of the treatment team. Duties involve functioning as a member of the team in delivering clinical services for clients in outpatient settings, providing services to individuals, groups and/or families. Exercise considerable independence of judgment in the application of professional counseling to an identified caseload of clients with individual and/or family problems requiring a variety of intervention, service techniques and skills. This position has the potential for supervisory responsibilities and more frequent responsible contacts with outside agencies and groups.
Essential Functions
Assess client needs and eligibility for services.
Provide selected services to an identified caseload, referring clients to other services as appropriate.
Develop and maintain client case records, plans and reports.
Attend and testify at court proceedings, as needed.
Work with schools and other agencies to coordinate and facilitate services to clients.
Attend in-services, staffing and other meetings as assigned. May be appointed to committees.
Participate in agency and community planning and education.
Provide peer consultation/new staff training; may be assigned lead worker role as the need arises.
Participate in developing company policies and procedures with regard to social work practices and program needs.
Conduct intake evaluations/screenings with client and/or family.
Conduct psychosocial evaluations.
Participate regarding treatment plan of care of clients.
Maintain contact with clients for counseling and adjustment to treatment.
Communicate with family regarding client adjustment and plan of care when indicated.
Consult with psychiatrist to provide follow-through in treatment of clients.
Aid clients in responding to financial, legal and personal matters as indicated.
Communicate with team regarding treatment planning and client adaptation.
Provide psychotherapy/counseling services to a diverse clinical population utilizing a variety of treatment modalities, including individual, group and family therapy.
Consult with community agencies and groups.
Function as a case manager for a diverse clinical population.
Deliver emergency and crisis services.
Participate in individual supervision/consultation as needed. Screen and assign cases in supervisor’s absence.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s or doctoral degree from in counseling from an accredited school

Case Manager Positions (Independent Contractors)
Summary
Reach out to clients assigned by his or her supervisor to assess their most urgent needs, appraise the situation, and listen to the clients’ concerns
Perform an in-depth mental or physical health analysis of the client
Develop a detailed plan of action to meet these needs, set goals, and find necessary resources to meet the goals
Decide which case manager will provide the service for the client
Complete a prescreening of client needs
Offer counseling for patients in either individual or group settings
Consult with other external agencies to provide support services and resources
Keep comprehensive records of clients’ progress throughout the process, including every call, referral, and home visit
Maintain confidentiality, respect privacy, and preserve the clients’ routine and independence as much as possible
Stay in touch with clients to ensure the services were beneficial and that their needs are still met after pointing clients in the right direction for services
